In the early 1980s Olle Paulsson met a man at a spelmansstämma in northern Småland who claimed he owned a hardanger fiddle. Olle was interested in norwegian music but when he visited the man in Jönköping/Huskvarna he realised that it was not a hardanger fiddle but a violin with 2 sympathetic strings. The pegbox was extended and there were three pegs on each side but the body was a standard violin body. The violin did not look very old and might have been an experiment from the 20th century and the man claimed he bought it at an auction in Svenarum. Olle intended to come back to take pictures of the violin but that never happened, probably because the man wanted to sell the instrument and was not too happy with a visit unless it resulted in a business deal.
