Swedish fiddles with sympathetic strings

Violino d'amore

Violino d'amore is a common name for all violins with sympathetic strings. The Double-deckers and other swedish violins with four sympathetic strings are subgroups to the violino d'amore. Unfortunately, I haven't found a lot of litterature about the instrument and not so many objects either so it is hard to say how popular the instrument was in Europe during the 18:th century, when the viola d'amore was quite common within classical music.
